Hmmm…Now almost enough backlog of new versions to send another order.

Since I can’t get DSL at my location (although it is in the middle of major metro area), downloading DVDs is impractical for me, so I am enthralled with Frozentech. At 11 Megabytes per hour (28800 connect speed) 4.5 G would take 400 hours. At Frozentech prices, I probably come out ahead without DSL. I have ordered CDs from other sites, and although they were good, none beat Frozentech.

I have ordered something like 25 distros/versions (as Fedora 4, 5, 6, Ubuntu, Kubuntu etc.) in the last year and half, quite a few just to take a look at, since it’s only two bucks a DVD and a dollar a CD. It’s so easy, why not? They came within a few working days when qualified for priority mail, and less than 7 running days in plain mail. They have pretty “silkscreen” lettering/logos and no defects. They come in double sleeves that have looseleaf holes. I wire them together with bag ties. New versions come along too fast to keep them as a permanent set.

The biggest positives I have had (and which I was not expecting) are Ubuntu 6.01 LTS and PClinuxOS. Until 6.01, the enthusiasm I was hearing about Ubuntu were a bafflement to me. PClinuxOS I had never heard of. However, in my experience it is an approximate equal to Ubuntu 6.01 for being easy, convenient and extensive.

    I mean Ubuntu 6.06.1
