Fedora 7 Available and Subscription News

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

Fedora 7 is now available!  This version improves upon desktop features and performance.  Notably, Fedora 7 is the first release to include installers on their LiveCDs.

In addition, FrozenTech would like to thank its Linux 6+2 Subscribers for their interest and support over the past thirteen months.  Unfortunately at this time, however, the substantial increase in postage has forced FrozenTech to cancel the monthly subscription.

FrozenTech strives to offer high quality, yet affordable products.  We will continue to develop our line while keeping our customers’ needs as our number one priority.  Thank you!

We have also added Ubuntu Studio to the store. Based on Ubuntu, Ubuntu Studio focuses on media production and has a sleek dark theme. If you just want the theme and are already running Ubuntu, you can add it using the instructions here.

Two New LiveCDs Available

Monday, March 5th, 2007

Per customer request, we just added the “official” Fedora Core 6 LiveCD and grml 0.9, a LiveCD for anyone who enjoys working at the shell.

The Fedora Core 6 LiveCD is built by the Fedora Core team, who is different than the LiveDVDs, which are built by the Fedora Unity team.

grml has a great shell and a comfortable framebuffer setup, and also contains X11 and a few lightweight window managers. Tons of utilites are included on this CD which would have not otherwise fit if it included Gnome or KDE.

Dreamlinux, New Shipping, New Releases

Monday, January 22nd, 2007

Dreamlinux

We are now an official distributor of Dreamlinux. Dreamlinux uses the lightweight and fast XFCE for the desktop manager and has many multimedia oriented packages, such as GimpShop, Kino DV, Inkscape, Blender, and Avidemux. Dreamlinux comes on a LiveCD and is installable from inside the live session. We are proud to have $0.30 of each sale going directly to Dreamlinux.

Shipping

Due to a large number of broken discs in the last month, we are now shipping small orders of CDs in cardboard boxes. To cover the costs, we have to raise our shipping price from $0.49 to $0.99 for orders less than $10. Orders of $10 or higher still have free shipping, and orders $20 or higher still get upgraded to priority mail shipping for free.

New Releases

January has been a busy month for new releases. Knoppix 5.1.0 and Sabayon 3.25 were both released and then quickly re-released as Knoppix 5.1.1 and Sabayon 3.26. Puppy Linux and Damn Small Linux, our two extremely lightweight distros, both came out with new versions. We also got new AMD64 builds of Debian 3.1, and updated both our Debian builds to r4.
