openSUSE 10.3 is Available

Sunday, October 7th, 2007

openSUSE 10.3 is out! There are some significant changes since 10.2, including new versions of Gnome, KDE, a pre-release of KDE 4, new Compiz Fusion effects, and new release media. The 3 install DVDs are back, for i386, x86-64, or PPC computers. The PPC DVD also has support for the Playstation 3. CD media has changed. Instead of the DVD packages being spread across 6 CDs, they’ve gone with a single CD default install. NonOSS software is still on a separate AddOn CD, which we have listed by itself, so people wanting to buy multiple CD versions don’t have to get duplicates of the NonOSS AddOn.

The full release announcement can be seen here.

Fedora 7 Available and Subscription News

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

Fedora 7 is now available!  This version improves upon desktop features and performance.  Notably, Fedora 7 is the first release to include installers on their LiveCDs.

In addition, FrozenTech would like to thank its Linux 6+2 Subscribers for their interest and support over the past thirteen months.  Unfortunately at this time, however, the substantial increase in postage has forced FrozenTech to cancel the monthly subscription.

FrozenTech strives to offer high quality, yet affordable products.  We will continue to develop our line while keeping our customers’ needs as our number one priority.  Thank you!

ILHD 2007.02 is Available

Saturday, February 24th, 2007

The long overdue update to the ILHD is finally available. We had to remove the PowerPC ISOs in order to fit all the new distros which have come out, but feel like it was worth it. The latest Fedora, Ubuntu, Debian, Sabayon, Knoppix, and SUSE ISOs are all included, along with almost every other popular distro.

The hard drive was also updated to the 250 GB Seagate 7200.10  16MB cache model. It keeps the 5 year warranty, and uses new perpendicular recording technology.

Ubuntu 6.10 is Out

Thursday, October 26th, 2006

We’ve added the Ubuntu 6.10 Desktop CDs already, and as downloads complete, we will be updating the DVDs, Kubuntu, and Xubuntu discs. 6.10 will replace Kubuntu and Xubuntu 6.06.1 LTS, but we will be keeping Ubuntu 6.06.1 LTS along with 6.10 because of Ubuntu’s commitment to keep updating this version until 2009 (2011 for the sever version).
